Fun Baby Learning Games by Sally Goldberg PhD is a
wonderful resource filled with 200 ideas and activities that
develop motor, cognitive, language and social skills through
playful games with your infants to two-year olds. As founder of
the Child-Centered Divorce Network, I emphasize the importance of
maintaining a close bond with your child, especially during
challenging times within the family. Dr. Sally offers simple,
easy to follow steps, all backed by research, to keep parent and
child engaged, enjoying fun together time and stimulating all the
senses. Every parent, child-care center and preschool would
benefit from this thoughtful how-to book. --Rosalind Sedacca, CDC
I have known Sally and her work for a very long time. She tells
me often how important the first three years of life are for
later success. That is one of those things that sounds good but
is actually hard to believe. Now with this book, that idea is
clear as day. The best feature of Fun Baby Learning Games is the
organization. There is high-quality information about every age
and stage of development from birth to age three. In addition,
there are activities for each one that include simple
instructions for how to do them and why. Here is the main theme
that she follows Through play-and-learn techniques you can keep
fostering development every step of the way in these five areas:
cognitive, motor, social/emotional, language and self-esteem. She
says in many different ways that every minute counts! I highly
recommend this book for every new parent and grandparent. --Bob

I love Sally s book. It is user-friendly, informative, practical
and positive. This would be an excellent book for any parent,
grandparent or child care provider of young children. Support of
an infant, toddler, and two year old s development and
self-esteem Is the basis for y development in life. I
recommend Fun Baby Learning Games. -Brenda Nixon, M.A.
I love this book. The "play-and-learn" system that Dr. Goldberg
presents is supported by extensive rigorous scientific research.
However, this is not a dry research report. On the contrary, it
suggests simple, inexpensive (or free) activities that are fun
both for baby and parent. Each of the activities is directed
toward a specific area of development at a specific stage of your
baby's development from infancy to three years of age. Dr.
Goldberg explains each activity; why it is important and how to
play it. Each of the five areas of development-cognitive,
social-emotional, motor, language and self-esteem are addressed.
The simple activities are brilliant and FUN while also aiding in
baby's development of essential skills through guided play. Fun
Baby Learning Games is a rich and invaluable resource that will
provide hours of FUN for your child and yourself. --Susan Augir
